About me
I'm Tamara Kuselman, an English/Spanish counsellor and coach based in Amsterdam, originally from Argentina. I specialize in Family, Relationships, and Grief, working with individuals, couples and groups navigating relationship patterns, family dynamics, and life transitions.
Before counselling, I spent 20 years as a visual and performing artist. This background shapes how I work—integrating systemic approaches with embodied, creative methods that access insights beyond traditional talk therapy.
My journey to this work came from personal experience with complex family dynamics and cultural displacement. Growing up between two very different family worlds—with both parents working as alternative therapists—I learned early how family systems shape who we become and witnessed the transformative power of therapeutic work. Moving to Europe alone at twenty taught me how profoundly our contexts shape who we become, and these experiences inform how I understand what clients bring—the complexity of belonging, identity, and creating authentic connections.
I chose to specialize in this area because I've lived it—navigating complex family dynamics, processing multiple losses (homeland, relationships, versions of myself), and learning how deeply our family patterns shape every relationship we have. I understand that grief isn't just about death; it's about all the transitions and endings that reshape us. And I know that relationship struggles often point back to unspoken family rules, inherited patterns, or parts of ourselves we've learned to hide.
I work with individuals exploring their relationship patterns, processing loss, or clarifying their values during life transitions. With couples, I help you see beyond surface conflicts to understand the deeper dynamics—power struggles, communication patterns, cycles that create distance. My approach combines systemic understanding with creative, embodied methods to access insights your mind alone might miss.
I chose this work because understanding where our patterns come from gives us real choices about how we want to show up in relationships. When we can see what's driving our reactions, we can choose different responses.
